The head of Teewah Creek
is accessible by a rough gravel road, called The Cooloola Way, in dry weather.
It takes 1 3/4 hours one way (42km) to drive a vehicle from Elanda Point to the
head of Teewah Creek. No facilities are available there. It is extremely difficult
to canoe back up the Teewah Creek but canoeing down the narrow, twisting, fast-flowing
Teewah Creek to the start of the Upper Noosa River takes approximately two hours
(6km) and is a photographer's delight. The Elanda Point Canoe Company hires canoes at the head of Teewah Creek and provides transport by landcruiser taxi from Elanda to that place. |
