You can walk further upstream of the Upper Noosa River to Campsites 1, 2 and 3 in 35 minutes (3.5km), 50 minutes (5km) and 1 hour 20 minutes (7.5km) respectively one way from Harry's Hut. However, the walking track connecting these campsites, an off-shoot of the Cooloola Wilderness Trail, is on the eastern side of the Upper Noosa River as are the campsites. As there is no bridge across the Upper Noosa River, walkers must either swim across the Upper Noosa River or be ferried across by canoe or by boat. Again groups often split into two half groups with the walking and canoeing groups meeting at Harry's to ferry the walking group and their gear across the river.
From Elanda Point you can canoe to Campsites 1, 2 and 3 in 2 hours 55 minutes (15km), 3 hour 10 minutes (16.5km) and 3 hours 40 minutes (19km) one way respectively. You can drive or hire a motor boat from Elanda Point to Campsites 1, 2 and 3 in 1 hour 30 minutes 1 hour 40 minutes and 1 hour 50 minutes respectively.

Campsites 1, 2 and 3 all have toilets and water tanks but no barbecues as no open fires are allowed at any of the campsites upstream of Harry's. If you go into this area you should make sure that you take a good fuel stove for cooking purposes. Water at all the campsites is obtainable from the river and though the Upper Noosa River could be considered unpolluted, it is advisable to boil all untreated water including tank water or treat with sterilisation tablets before drinking. The nearest treated water can be obtained from Elanda Point. |
